Naturalist, gardener and author of YA nature fantasy, Laurel loves the outdoors, guinea pigs, chocolate and books, pretty much in that order.

Before kids, she studied and worked as a naturalist—someone who leads wildflower walks and answers calls about the snake that wandered into your garage. During a stint of homeschooling, she turned to writing historical fantasy and science fantasy, always with a touch of sweet romance.

When not living in her fantasy worlds, Laurel hikes, camps, hunts fossils, and argues with her husband and two new adult kids over whose turn it is to clean house.
