Patrick Chiles has been fascinated with airplanes, rockets, and spaceflight for as long as he can remember. How he ended up as an English major in college is still a mystery, though he managed to overcome this self-inflicted handicap to pursue a career in aviation.
He is a graduate of The Citadel, a Marine Corps veteran and licensed pilot. His novels are informed by a life spent around aircraft and the people who make them fly, convincingly portraying a near-future space industry filled with ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Patrick has also written for magazines such as Smithsonian's Air & Space. After raising their children in Ohio, he currently resides in Tennessee with his wife and two lethargic dachshunds. He is published by Baen Books.
