Laura Ingalls-Wei currently lives with her husband and daughter in the Free and Independent Republic of Merica, in a little house in the countryside southeast of Jiujinshan. Little House on the Wasteland is her first attempt to preserve and share her memories of a childhood spent on the margins of civilization, travelling far and wide with her family across the wild and lawless country left behind by the collapse of the Old Merican Empire.
