Alexandra Horowitz heads the Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard College, where she also teaches seminars in canine cognition, creative nonfiction writing, and audio storytelling. She is the author of Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know and three other books: On Looking; Being a Dog; and Our Dogs Ourselves. She lives, writes, and shares the couch with two impressively patient dogs, one unimpressed cat, and the aforementioned puppy in New York City.
