Laurie Kingery was born in Texas, the only child of a career Army officer and his wife. When she was three, the family moved to Columbus Ohio suburb of Bexley after a tour of duty in Germany.

During a family medical crisis, the entire family became born-again Christians and joined an evangelical church. That faith has been Laurie’s “Rock” ever since.
