About the Author

Michelle Marcos admits to living vicariously through her characters. Her spunky heroines walk a tightrope between being bad girls and good, and the heroes find that downright irresistible.

Her first series, the Pleasure Emporium novels, centers around a notorious London bordello in the 19th century, and the memorable characters and lively plots have been delighting readers. WHEN A LADY MISBEHAVES received raves from Publishers Weekly; GENTLEMEN BEHAVING BADLY received 4 1/2 stars from Romantic Times Book Reviews; and WICKEDLY EVER AFTER was named the Best Historical Romance by both the New England RWA and the Yellow Rose RWA.

"It’s fun to read about characters who choose questionable paths in life. I love to watch what they do when their wicked world is turned upside down, and how they are slowly transformed by the love of a good mate."

Michelle’s current series, the Highland Knaves novels, introduces us to an outcast kinship of Scots who long for justice and will stop at nothing to get it. Branded by decent Scots as slaighteur—knaves—they are both fierce and fiercely loyal to one another. Yet they know that it’s only a matter of time—and cunning—before the Slayters are restored to their place of pride.

"I loved writing about Highlanders. The only thing more fascinating than a man in a kilt is a man out of one."
