About the Author

Born and raised near Stuttgart, Germany, Dimitra spent the early 1990’s in New York City, working as an escort. For two years, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin was her top client. Sorkin later created the successful television drama The West Wing, and though he confessed to Dimitra that he wrote the call girl character because of her, he never officially acknowledged her or gave her credit.

During her youth in Germany, Dimitra came to appreciate the solace and stimulation of creative endeavors. In a magazine she saw Helmut Newton’s work, and instantly took up photography. At 12- years-old she read Xaviera Hollander’s bestseller The Happy Hooker and vowed to go to New York and follow in her footsteps. While Dimitra worked mostly as a call girl, and later as a stripper, she is also a photographer and even had a burgeoning career as a music producer.

In 2002, the New York Daily News and Star magazine first broke the story of Dimitra’s involvement with Aaron Sorkin and The West Wing. In a discussion with Daily News columnist George Rush, she talked about her desire to write about the inner workings of high-priced call girl life; and he said, “I can’t wait to read it.” That’s how Dimitra became a writer.

It was only natural, having been immersed in art and literature all her life.
