It’s spring on Martha’s Vineyard and at the suggestion of her beekeeper, Victoria takes in a new boarder, Orion Nanopoulis. Orion is leading a project to lay a fiber optic cable across the Island. When a body is found in the trench where they are laying the cable, Orion tells Victoria he recognizes the dead man as someone who was a potential investor. Victoria, whose roots on the Island go deep, knows quite a bit about the Island’s residents and the dead man’s sons hire her to investigate the murder.
