About the Author

Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Joan Kilby now resides in Melbourne, Australia. She is happily married with three children.

Although she loved to write stories and poems as a child, Joan studied science at university and obtained a masters degree in marine biology. She worked as an environmental biologist for many years in both government and private consulting.

It wasn't until she began writing romantic fiction that she discovered the difference between a career and a calling. "I love to write romance novels because they're about emotions and relationships--things that are important to women. Finding out what makes my characters tick, and weaving their stories into a complex emotional plot is an endlessly challenging and exciting occupation."

Besides writing, Joan enjoys cooking, swimming, bush walking and reading. She also loves to travel, and foreign locations and characters often appear in her stories.
