SJ Bennett grew up in an army family and traveled around the world. She gained her PhD in Italian Literature from the University of Cambridge and was a strategy consultant and freelancer for many years before becoming a professional writer aged 42. She is an award-winning children's author and runs the Prepublished podcast for would-be writers, where she talks to fellow writers and editors about aspects of the craft.
