Rachel Garlinghouse is a mother through domestic, transracial, open adoption. She teaches composition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and is also a freelance writer, having written articles for various publications including Adoptive Families, MyBrownBaby.com, and Diabetes Health. She's the facilitator of Adoptive Mamas of the Metro, a support group, and speaks at adoption training sessions. When she's not teaching or writing, Rachel can be found dancing, baking, reading, and playing with her children.
