Sheila Turnage is the author of the middle grade novel Three Times Lucky, a Newbery Honor book set in eastern North Carolina where Sheila grew up.

Her earlier books include a guidebook to North Carolina and a book of ghost stories called Haunted Inns of the Southeast.

Sheila and her husband live in eastern North Carolina. She is currently working on a sequel to Three Times Lucky. The Ghost of Tupelo Landing is slated for release early in 2014
