Thomas grew up near Seattle, Washington in a number of towns amid a lot of rain. The rain kept him inside reading much of the time. Raised on a steady diet of Stephen King, Peter Straub and Clive Barker, he was destined to find wonder in the darkness. Though his appreciation for all forms of literature has grown over the years, he is always drawn back to the marvelous dark.

In addition to his Northwest roots, Thomas has lived in Los Angeles, Denver, New Orleans and New York City. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
