After four unsuccessful seasons, Eliza Hammond is not looking forward to her fifth. Not knowing how to talk to people, Eliza reluctantly agrees when her best friend Violet suggests that Violet's brother-in-law Kit mentor Eliza to prepare her for new suitors. Eliza has loved Kit for years and only recently put her feelings for him behind and moved on.

Lord Christopher (Kit) Winter can't believe what he's gotten himself into. Eliza is unfashionable, mousey and timid. The only thing she has going for her is an inherited fortune. But if Eliza will do what he instructs her to, they just might be able to find her a decent husband.

Kit can't believe the transition in appearance Eliza has made just by changing her hair style and purchasing fashionable clothing. He finds he actually enjoys talking to her, but something about her just doesn't sit well. Unsure what the problem is, he continues to mentor her and is pleased that her progress is more than he expected. But, Kit is actually annoyed that other men are lining up to be in her company.

With her lessons coming to an end, Eliza decides there's one area she knows nothing about -- kissing. When she asks Kit to teach her the art of kissing, she expects him to laugh in her face. Instead, he does the opposite and she realizes she wants to learn more. Neither expects their instruction in loving to go as far as it does, so Kit does the noble thing and offers marriage. Eliza refuses. Though it's her heart's desire to marry Kit, she won't have him because she knows he doesn't love her.

Even though Eliza yearns to be Kit's wife, she accepts another's proposal knowing he'll be a good husband and father to future children. She just hopes she can be a good wife. Kit is devastated when the engagement is announced, realizing that he's actually fallen in love with Eliza. When Eliza is kidnapped, Kit will stop at nothing to get her back, and hopefully convince her he's the man she should marry.

THE WEDDING TRAP is the perfect ending in the Trap trilogy. I absolutely loved the ending. You know if Kit were real, he'd be stopping hearts wherever he went, and it's something to watch Eliza turn from ugly duckling into a beautiful swan under the guidance of the man who'll love her. I applaud the Trap trilogy and highly recommend all three books -- THE HUSBAND TRAP, THE WIFE TRAP and THE WEDDING TRAP.

Book Summary

Eliza Hammond has always been quiet and reserved—hardly the best qualities for finding the man of her dreams and living happily ever after. A new heiress, Eliza is financially secure, courtesy of her aunt’s fortune, but even great wealth has its drawbacks since every greedy, fortune-hunting bachelor suddenly finds Eliza irresistible.

To help her best friend, Violet takes Eliza’s romantic dilemma into her own hands, enlisting the social skills of her brother-in-law, Lord Christopher “Kit” Winter. Kit helps transform Eliza into a stunning belle, certain to attract a worthy beau. There’s just one problem: Eliza has always been head over heels in love with Kit, the very man who is trying to find her a husband! But during Eliza’s sometimes-comic extreme makeover, and with a few secret love lessons from Kit on the side, sparks—and passionate kisses—begin to fly. Kit soon finds himself completely overcome by an all-consuming desire for Eliza. But if he waits too long to recognize his love for her, he risks losing his fair lady forever.
