STALK THE DARKNESS is one of those books that, no matter what you expect, there are some twists that take you in a completely different direction. Satin's past is slowly revisited - and there in itself will be a lot of surprises. There is an evil surrounding her that she never realized was there until she has to go in search of Levet's aunt Bertha - the only family member who was ever nice to the miniature gargoyle. It is she who tells Satin she is pregnant, which is impossible unless that tricky Were did something to her. Marco is an alpha, the cousin to Salvatore (Book 6), and he finds himself in love with the vampire, so after she goes missing, he goes after her, but when he finds her, she traps him as she had planned on trapping Bertha. This brings Salvatore into Styx's face, and he ends up sending Troy, the Prince of Imps, and Levet out to find them both. Styx is happy he has gotten rid of Levet, but no one else is thrilled - especially Troy.
The adventure is fairly twisted as Bertha is stuck in human form and a voice keeps telling her what to do and tells her to be ready but not really ready for what. So her journey has a number of fun moments - at least fun for her because if she has to be a human, she might as well enjoy it.
STALK THE DARKNESS is the 19th of author Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Eternity, but it is just as much fun to read as all the others.
