As a favor to a friend, Abby Cooper, professional psychic intuitive, agrees to quickly learn to read tarot cards for a wedding whose guests are more than they seem. Of course, the night of this wedding is on the same night as her long- awaited homecoming with her FBI agent boyfriend. Now, she's simultaneously irritated at his new sexy undercover partner; aggravated at him for being so obtuse about his partner and seemingly insecure or ashamed about her job; and annoyed with herself for being in a mob-influenced situation while working with the police on a case.

In her sophomore work about Abby Cooper, Ms. Laurie proves she can hold her own. The characters are even more vibrant in this second novel and improve upon further development. However, first-time readers will have no problems falling immediately into the book, because the exposition is artful, but to the point.

Book Summary

Word of Abby's talents reading tarot cards has reached a mob boss who wants her help in some business matters and he doesn't take no for an answer. When the police seek out her psychic intuition to shed light on a masked man who's been attacking women, Abby finds herself working both sides of the law on her own, leading her to wonder, why didn't I see this coming?
