Lily Atwood has an anonymous source who has been giving her material for her investigative reports.  This source has helped her create award-winning segments, but this person also wants something from Lily, and the time to collect is coming due.  Lily holds onto a secret from her past surrounding the disappearance of her sister Cassie.   Cassie mysteriously vanished from her college campus and she has never resurfaced.  The anonymous source wants to unbury Lily’s past, but for what purpose?   Lily is not sure whom she can trust from her producer, Greer Whitfield, to her nanny, Petra, to the father of her daughter, Sam Prescott.  When a private investigator, Walter Banning, shows up with questions, the plot thickens. Can Lily share her secrets and still keep her perfect life?

Fans of Hank Phillippi Ryan may enjoy this standalone thriller, but there were many areas in the story that felt disjointed and redundant.  I had a hard time believing the reason for Cassie’s disappearance or the importance of Lily keeping it a secret.  Everything felt overdramatized without real substance to back it up.  I never really connected with any of the characters, which left me unenthused about the outcome.  It seems there were good intentions for HER PERFECT LIFE, but somehow the story became too convoluted and tedious to really enjoy.
