Just before she accepts a position at an art school, Gracie’s father dies. He leaves the family business to his three children, but Gracie is the only one available to take control. She pushes aside her dreams and manages Bubbles, a champagne store.

Now, years later, the store is struggling. While they have a lease for the next five years, the landlord would like to buy them out. Gracie tells Sebastian absolutely not; she can’t bear the thought of the store failing. It would be like failing her father.

She enlists her brother and sister to help. Together they create a list of ideas to generate business. Gracie doesn’t share her troubles with many people, but she does lean on Sir. Sir is the man she’s in love with but has never met. They talk over messages on a dating app.

Every time Gracie turns around, Sebastian is there. Ever since their first meeting, they have had little moments. They bring out the worst in each other at times, but they also have fun together.

Gracie’s heart is torn between the two men, even though both are off-limits. One has a girlfriend and the other is her arch-nemesis.

Gracie can’t help but wonder if she’s making a mistake in not giving up the store, but who would she be without it?

TO SIR, WITH LOVE by Lauren Layne is a retelling of You’ve Got Mail. Switch the books for champagne and writing for painting for this new spin on an old tale. Grace and Sebastian are fantastic together with their snark, witty banter, and sweet moments at attraction. Readers will have a hard time putting this book down and it will leave them with a smile on their face.
