Raven Crawford had thought her life would be one humdrum thing after another, but in the past months nothing could be further from that truth. She is the QUEEN OF CORVIDS.

A little recap on how everything came about - Raven's twin brother, Bear, nickname for Bjorn, had stolen an item for someone and refused to give it to him. The Lord of War (Bane) is the one who wanted it stolen and the Lord of Shadows (Cole) wanted it back. Both go to Raven demanding she help them - or else. To make a good story short Raven during the process of finding Bear, learns she is part fae, her grandfather is Odin himself, and accidentally defeats Lloth, the Queen of Corvids, to become the queen. If she can't learn her powers quickly the deal she made with Bane might end up getting her killed. If the Others who don't think she has the right to her new status don't get to her first.

QUEEN OF CORVIDS is book # 3 of author J.C. McKenzie's Raven Crawford series. It is amazing! Raven, being half fae, and just learning about that part of herself and now must learn a new way of life. Still dealing with her debt (which gets handled nicely in this offering), the well of power that she has to learn how to handle, the dregs of the Other world and the human world wanting to cause her harm - give our girl a lot to handle. On top of that is a mandatory meeting of the Fae world that she must attend wearing little more than a gold bikini and having her sister Juniper kidnapped is really the final straw. The QUEEN OF CORVIDS finally comes out with a vengeance.

Raven has to learn to defend herself, hone her instincts and still manage to to live her day to day life. She has a lot to learn and a short time to do it, because the Lord of War is on her back about their deal. Cole is teaching her as is Roarke, one of Cole's men, who is soon to become her personal guard. And Cole, well he is going to become much more important to her, much to Bane's anger.

A fantastic read with plenty of twists and turn that pull you further into this amazing world. Add in romance, family (and what a family dynamic it is - fox shifters, half fae and witches), the Closers (human anti-others), a blackmailing group of hyenas, Bane, and her father's missing revenge goat Pepe and you have QUEEN OF CORVIDS in all its glory.

Book Summary

Truth can be ugly and part-time waitress, casual PI investigator, and half-fae shifter, Raven Crawford, can’t deny she owes the Lord of War a favour. If she defaults on her debt, she relinquishes all her power to a man who doesn’t know the meaning of mercy. And she thought her bank loans were bad.

With her new role in the Underworld contending with her debt to a dictator, a budding romance with the Lord of Shadows, and her need to pay the bills, Raven is in serious need of balance. But the moment the dark fae walked into her diner months ago, she’s been off-balance.

It’s time for Raven to pull up her big girl socks and prove to everyone she’s no longer the burnt-out waitress with a nifty parlour trick.

She’s the Queen of Corvids.
