Adrian Rizzo was seven when she met her biological father for the first time. And on that same day he almost killed her until her mother, Lina, came to her rescue. Soon after this traumatic experience, Lina takes Adrian to spend the summer with her grandparents in Maryland. Adrian loves spending time with her Nonna and Popi where she gets to enjoy just being a child and making a new best friend, Maya and crushing on her friend’s older brother, Raylan. Meanwhile, her mother, Lina, continues to travel the country promoting her fitness brand that grows into a billion dollar business.
Ten years later seventeen-year-old Adrian has created her own line of yoga and workout videos after observing and following her mother’s career. She and Lina have never had a true mother/daughter relationship but have a cordial business relationship. Adrian has a good business sense and surrounds herself with friends that she can rely on and trust. Pain and loss will take her back to Maryland to live with her beloved grandfather. Returning to Maryland will also re-connect her with her childhood crush, Raylan, who has also returned to Maryland after a tragic loss.
This is a great story about finding your own way, using your own strengths, coming back from hurt and loss and reconnecting as a family. Adrian decides that she will no longer allow her stalker to torment her and takes things into her own hands. Raylan and his children suffer a crushing loss but find a chance at love and happiness again.
