Sayer is trying to start her life again. Now Sayer is involved in an investigation on the body of a young girl. The body was left in the middle of a circle of animals, and a message written in blood. Sayer founds out that this is a much bigger case than she ever thought. A bus is missing with twenty-four high school kids on it.
As more information comes in, Sayer finds that all but one of the boys have been killed. But where are the rest of the kids? All the girls still seem to be missing. Sayer and her crew are doing everything they can to find out what is going on. One of the boys, Declean, has been found alive, but he really can’t give many details as to what happened. During all of the investigation, Sayer just has a feeling that someone has been following her. Could it be #37 who for some reason seems to be one step ahead of what is going on?
Ellison Cooper writes a kind of strange story. However, the way things have been going on lately in America, I wonder how far off it really is. CUT TO THE BONE is such a good book as it kept me guessing until the end. I was not expecting the way this story ended. There are several twists and turns and it is a little hard to keep track of who is who, but after a while I had everyone figured out.
Cooper also showed in this book that you do not have to be related to know who your family is. It did take me a little while to get into this book. But once I did, I did like it. CUT TO THE BONE is a cozy read to sit wrapped up in a blanket and enjoy.
