Nora Quinn, an immaculate and beautiful red-headed woman is on a mission for her company, Pharminex: coming into a doctor's office to sell her products for curing infertility, she strikes up conversations with other women and then leaves them. However, after talking to a young woman who later on ends up dead, Nora's secrets and lies begin to emerge enmasse, endangering everything and everyone she holds dear. 

Ellie Berensen, a blonde haired and incredibly devoted reporter, is close to striking a blow towards Pharminex, in particular to the dangers of what Pharminex doesn't want anyone to know about their products, and what it may cost women in the long run. However, one night, Ellie meets a woman named Maggie who is naive and who seems to be in danger of destroying the hard work Ellie has built up in taking down Pharminex. 

Brooke Vanderwald, a fifteen year old wealthy daughter is close to her brother, Trevor Vanderwald who will soon marry Lacey. But when Brooke's mother, who owns Pharminex, hands her a mysterious pill, the world that Brooke desired gets destroyed. 

Lacey is ambitious and desires to rise high above and beyond by marrying Trevor Vanderwald, son to owners of a company named Pharminex. However, shortly after their marriage tragedy visits Lacey, destroying any chance she has for happiness. 

From the time I began to read domestic suspense/thriller genre, I have yet to read a novel like THE FIRST TO LIE by Hank Phillippi Ryan. While I am used to and quite familiar with some of the devices used within, there are numerous other twists that I don't think I have gotten over with, and I also wasn't able to predict the tale very accurately. My favorite thing about THE FIRST TO LIE by Hank Phillippi Ryan include the character of Nora Quinn because of her mysteries as well as her daring-do and I also loved the masks the characters wore when communicating with one another. Reality is also the stuff of dreams, taking a backseat to all the lies, trickery and deceit multiple characters engaged in.

If the reader is seeking a novel of quality that includes devices used in surprising ways, THE FIRST TO LIE by Hank Phillippi Ryan will truly be a sexy and twisty ride into the unknown.
