Over the past year, Charlie has taken over the reins at the family diner so her parents can travel. It’s been nice returning home to Alaska and getting a fresh start. Readers will feel the cold through the descriptions but will warm up with all food mentioned. Of course, there are delicious recipes included. There’s a potential romance in the air with a reporter, who is helping Charlie solve the murder. An adorable cat and a close-knit town help round out the book, but what really stands out is the uniqueness of the Alaskan setting.
