DEAD SILENCE written by Wendy Corsi Staub is a psychological thriller that you will not forget. This is a thriller with a lot going on, but written well enough to keep you engaged until the end. Staub takes you through the mind of a sick individual called the Angler. He gets his kicks out of catching his prey who are just normal humans. You also see life from the eyes of investigative genealogist with her own mystery that she has to work through. Then, as you read on, you see that these lives all connect in this series that is easy to follow.
Amelia Crenshaw is the investigator has a personal mystery of her own involving who she is, as well as more about the biological family that she is trying to find. She makes it her mission to help a young boy, who does not speak and who has no clue where he belongs, find his mom. He is scared but nohbody can figure out what he's so scared of. This is the type of work she's committed herself to - helping foundlings find their families through DNA searches.
Then there is NYPD Missing Person Detective, Stockton Barnes who helps look for other people’s lost families and love ones. He spends his time looking for a woman who he cares about and wishes he had never left her. How will these two lives of Amelia and Barnes intertwine?
Staub has a great storyline that makes it a series worth reading. It can be read as a standalone, however you will want to read more after DEAD SILENCE. Wendy Corsi Staub leaves you thirsty for more answers and this novel keeps you hanging on until the very end.
