RESTLESS RANCHER is the second book in the wonderful Wild Rose Ranch Series by Jennifer Ryan. This is an exciting series about four young women who consider themselves sisters -- though not by blood.This story deals with the world's oldest "profession", greed and manipulation, and some deep well kept secrets. This is a great story about how we tend to make assumptions from looking at outward appearances and basing opinions without facts. This story also shows how one person's self-esteem was so low because of their background and feeling as if they did not deserve anything better. Once again Jennifer Ryan gives us a well- written story about a woman with a strong and forceful personality.

Down-on-his-luck rancher Austin Hubbard was sleeping soundly through a drunken stupor when he got a very memorable wake- up call from Sonya Tucker. She woke him up in more ways than one. Sonya is sent by her sister Roxy to help Austin get his ranch up and running and help him put the tattered pieces of his life back together. Sonya's capable and all business attitude gives Austin the boost he needs. Austin at one point had it all -- money, family, respectability -- and lost it. This is incomprehensible for Sonya who grew up and was raised by a mother who worked at Nevada's notorious brothel Wild Rose Ranch. But working with Austin to get his ranch working she sees just how honorable he really is. Austin is a RESTLESS RANCHER who had basically lost all hope when what little family he had remaining proved to not be there for him. Meeting Sonya gave him hope and rekindled feelings long forgotten.

Just as Austin and Sonya begin to develop a relationship buried secrets from his feud with his father explodes and threatens their newly developing relationship. Jennifer Ryan shows how different facets of family dynamics can effect a relationship and how to deal with them.
