Marian has found her calling in life! She loves working with rescue dogs in the middle of nowhere. Here she is happy and free. Soon she friends her mentor Tate and sparks begin to fly. When their job requires them to be assigned jobs away from each other the unthinkable happens! Tate dies a tragic death. Can she find answers to solve this horrific crime or will she uncover secrets that she wished she had never known?
THE LAST WOMAN IN THE FOREST is not your typical thriller style novel and is written in a slow-paced way that pulls you in leaving you wondering what will happen next. Becquets writes so that you can savor each sentence and take in every detail that leads to an unexpected ending. I can't remember the last time I saw that written about so well, or with such passion.
The characters are written in a way that makes them relatable and realistic. They are well-developed with interesting yet mysterious backstories that make you stop and question why? As the story progresses you are sure to be on the edge of your seat never knowing what will happen next.
THE LAST WOMAN IN THE FOREST is a remarkable yet terrifying read that you will not want to put down. I look forward to reading more from Diane Les Becquets.
