But one day Tyler leaves the house and does not return. Devon is very afraid, and she hires Elvis to find her son. Devon needs to know Tyler is okay and just what he has gotten himself into. Elvis Cole takes on the job and finds that Tyler is not involved in drugs, but he is behind several burglaries. Most of what they have been stealing is computers and any other electronics they can find.

What Tyler doesn't realize is that they have stolen a computer that someone wants back. Harvey and Stemms are professional killers. They have been watching this little group for a while. They need that computer back. They have been following Alec, and finally, have caught up with him, but since Alec is not talking they kill him.

Elvis finally finds Tyler and Crystal and explains to them exactly what is going on. Elvis also calls in his partner Joe to protect the kids and Devon. Elvis knows that time is not on their side to try and find this computer and what really is on it, so bad that people are willing to kill for it.

Robert Crais writes thrillers that suck you in with the way he shows how much Elvis cares about the people that he works for. Crais' story line shows how much a parent will go through to protect her child and that Tyler was not about to betray his friends until he has no other choice. THE WANTED is a classic thriller you'll want to read.
