Warning, this dark psychological thriller may keep you up for nights after reading it! THE INNOCENT WIFE written by Amy Lloyd was such a mind twister that I'm sure it will stick with me for days. Lloyd's main characters are both abnormal in their own ways, making my head spin as I tried to figure out what would happen next. Samantha is a woman that seems very unsure of herself and lacks confidence. Dennis seems, at times, to not know what he wants, but at other times comes across so sure of himself. Mix these two together and they play off each other well in this storyline.

Samantha is a woman who has been obsessed in Dennis Danson's murder case. She lives in England and has followed his case so closely that she started writing to him. He found her letters different from the others, so he started writing back. They both fell in love with each other and then married while he was still in prison for the brutal crime of murdering a young girl. Years later he is found not guilty and is released to live his life free with his new wife. Samantha will find out things that will shock her to her core, leaving her to wonder if she knows her new husband at all.

I enjoyed reading THE INNOCENT WIFE. The only thing that I did not like that much is the fact that Samantha seems like a woman with too low self-esteem to be mixed up with a man in prison. I guess I like novels that have women with a little bit more self-assurance. However, if she did, then this novel would have had a total different outcome. If you love psychological thrillers, then Amy Lloyd's THE INNOCENT WIFE is one you will want to read. The suspense itself will keep you committed to finishing it.
