Teenage sisters Emma and Cass lived with their mother and her new husband. Three years ago, both girls disappeared; no one has a clue where they could be. One night, Cass shows up at her mother's house to everyone's shock, without Emma. Where was she, where is Emma, and who took them?

Abby Winter is a forensic psychologist who worked on this case three years ago. Abby has never gotten over not being able to find these two sisters. Now, back on the case, Abby is about to interview Cass, with more questions than ever. But Abby starts out slow, so she doesn't freak Cas out. As Cass begins telling Abby her story, seemingly revealing more and more, things don't add up. Abby knows Cass is keeping secrets from her, but she can't figure out why, or where Emma really ended up...

Wendy Walker's EMMA IN THE NIGHT was a very interesting book. I will be honest, this book was a little bit of a strange read for me. I had a hard time following the storyline, but I don't want this to discourage anyone from reading this book. I liked the way Walker described the scenery of the novel, and I was truly shocked by the ending and did not see it coming at all. It's one you have to stick with until the end. I think mystery lovers looking for something different will enjoy this book.

Book Summary

One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime.
