Alice Hill befriends some girls at the age of fourteen who decide to use a character, Mister Tinder from a fictional novel, as their means to do a ghastly deed to Alice, leaving her to die. Now years later, she is trying to heal by changing her name and living elsewhere. Then someone is watching her and knows more about her past than they should. This leads her back to where it all started in order to get answers. She just may get more than she bargained for.
If you love reading twisted tales and do not mind graphic descriptions, then this novel is for you. Though the storyline reminds me of a teen horror flick, I enjoyed the surprises it brought along the way. Alice's story gets more interesting as it goes along leaving you scratching your head a few times and other times just leaving you speechless. Carter Wilson's novel MISTER TENDER'S GIRLS is one I would say to give it a try. See if you like the strange storyline.
Book Summary
At fourteen, Alice Hill was viciously attacked by two of her classmates and left to die. The teens claim she was a sacrifice for a man called Mister Tender, but that could never be true: Mister Tender doesn't exist. His sinister character is pop-culture fiction, nothing more.
Over a decade later, Alice has changed her name and is trying to heal. But someone is watching her. They know more about Alice than any stranger: her scars, her fears, and the secrets she keeps locked away. She can try to escape her past, but he is never far behind.
Addictive and chillingly surprising, this ripped-from- the-headlines thriller will have you transfixed until the very last page.
