In London, 1811 England's enemies are on their doorstep and the Home Office is busy trying to capture the spies and thieves stealing and selling valuable State secrets.

Rosalie Stratton is a female spy, known only as Asteria. Her spy guise is a sexy yellow, low-cut gown, a blond wig, and a silk, black mask that covers her face. Rosalie has been out in Society for four years, but she has no interest in marriage and rids any candidates swiftly and coldly. Her only interest is helping to end the war in any way she can. She can accomplish anything the male agents can and she takes pride in her investigations, speaks six languages and learned much from her now deceased father who worked at the Home Office. The only thing she will not accept is the criticism that claims she. as a woman can not be a successful spy. The male agents think of her as a goddess that has fallen to earth and would enjoy discovering who she is and unmasking her. So far, so good.

Bradwell Garrick, aka Brody, and Rosalie were childhood best friends and she was his Rosebud. Now, he is Lord Rimswell, as his older brother, Poldie, was killed in the war. Brody is heir to a large estate and also works as an Agent for the Home Office. Brody is handsome, charming and funny and a bit of a rake. He is very protective of Rosalie and is never without advice that she always refuses to heed. He has not a clue that she is the much sought after agent, Asteria. Rosalie tries to keep her distance from him but one night, alone together in the library, a flirtation begins. He backs Rosalie into the wall and begins to passionately kiss and fondle her. His actions are assisted by Rosalie. They are interrupted by a member of the ton who promises to keep their secret. The next day the rumor is out and the only way to keep Rosalie's reputation, Brody needs to marry her. Not only does he have a wife, he finds his wife is Asteria. Now two agents begin to work together to stop the treachery and find forever love.

Elizabeth Boyle writes a delicious historical novel filled with spies, murder, kidnapping, and romance. Add a few dollops of wicked sex, and you will be turning the pages faster and faster to a finale which is the icing on the cake. SIX IMPOSSIBLE THINGS is a sequel to Ms. Boyle's RHYMES WITH LOVE. I have not read the sequels, but they are at the top of my "to be read list." This glittering tale is an exciting adventure into war ravaged England, with a colorful cast of characters and a hero and heroine that you will admire and love. Bravo.

Book Summary

In the sixth novel of the enchanting Rhymes With Love series from New York Times bestselling author Elizabeth Boyle, a nobleman falls in love with a beautiful spy he must protect…

Lord Rimswell is a man of honor and absolutes. If he says something is impossible, it is. Yet his life of right and wrong is turned upside down when he finds himself in a compromising situation with the most unyielding, yet maddeningly beautiful, woman in London. If only he had not given in to the irresistible temptation to kiss her. Now he must marry her.

Miss Roselie Stratton is the very definition of impossible—headstrong, outspoken, and carrying a reticule of secrets that could ruin more than her reputation. Kissing Brody is hardly the most ruinous thing Roselie has ever done as a secret agent for the Home Office…nor will she let a marriage of convenience stop her from continuing her work. Little does Roselie realize that she has underestimated Brody's resolve to keep her safe—for he has hopelessly fallen in love with her and is determined to do the impossible by stealing her heart in return.
