KEPT is the third book in The Enforcers series by Maya Banks. It continues the ordeal of the women involved with the alpha males in this series. The first two books in this series are centered around Drake Donovan and Evangeline Hawthorne. Just like Evangeline was a naive young woman down on her luck, so is Hayley Winthrop. But in Hayley's circumstances she is totally alone with no one to turn to. When Hayley finds herself in desperate circumstances with no obvious solution, Silas Goodnight comes to her rescue. Once again Maya Banks shows the strength of a woman when she endures unbearable situations.

The Enforcers are the gorgeous, badass men who protect the women of their brothers who are threatened and abused by their enemies. It's hard reading the abuse these women suffer through, but it's harder watching how the men in their lives make decisions that add more hurt. What makes the story tolerable is the way The Enforcers encircle these women and protect them and become their advocates.

Drake and Silas are two intelligent men who both make decisions that are unbelievably painful for the women in their lives. I found myself asking is there anyway that I would be as forgiving as Hayley. Silas came from a violent, horrific childhood that causes him to believe that he is not good enough for Hayley. Even though Hayley has suffered great loss and disappointment she has a tremendous, loving heart. Meeting Hayley and Evangeline softened these hardened men in ways that are so endearing.

KEPT by Maya Banks is a story about Silas, a man with OCD tendencies who feels the need to be in control at all times, is distrustful, and feels that no woman would ever accept him or his life. Hayley accepts him for the man he is and is able to convince him that she accepts him for who he is. The abuse that she suffers is painful to read about, but her strength is what makes the story.
