A CHRISTMAS BRIDE is the second installment in Hope Ramsay's Chapel of Love series -- the first story was A Fairytale Bride novella which set the stage and introduced a host of lovely characters that are destined to grow in this engaging series.
This year just may hold the remedy for David's bah humbug attitude but only if he is ready to move on and somehow escape the clutches of his uber controlling influential family. Sacrifices are a duty of being a Lyndon and David has bravely shouldered the responsibilities that follow.
Willow's return to Shenandoah Falls was not to any fanfare in fact she only returned to regroup and figure out a plan for her future. Her career had abruptly ended unfortunately casting a pall over Willow. Willow was sort of engulfed in a bad aura as her mother and sister would say but bottom line was that she had to where to go but up and that climb looked pretty impossible.
Luckily with quite a bit of negotiation Willow landed a temporary job planning the wedding of two locals Melissa and Jeff (we met them in A FAIRYTALE BRIDE). Even this landed Willow in some hot water and she found herself pitted against none other than Pam Lyndon -- David's mother. Not an enviable position. Planning the wedding gave Willow a chance to give the Manor House Inn one last chance to shine -- something her friend Shelley would have loved. It would also give her a chance to rekindle her friendship with Shelley's husband and daughter Natalie.
Willow had developed a habit of being called a troublemaker -- a moniker she shared with her mother. But Willow didn't mind making trouble if the outcome helped a good cause. So troublemaker Willow has pushed up her sleeves and decided there were plenty of projects right at home in Shenandoah Falls that could benefit from her input. And David was high on her list.
Thanks to Hope Ramsay we get a chance to know some sassy characters through classy dialog. No matter how Willow and her hippie mother butt heads Willow often shares her wisdom. The best quote was "The best days end with dirty clothes." Hope Ramsay outdid herself with the characters who reside in Shenandoah Fall. Who wouldn't love a story about knights in white armor, Christmas spirit, weddings and falling in love? A CHRISTMAS BRIDE has all of these elements between the pages crafted by Hope Ramsay a true romantic. Falling in love takes a lot of grit and courage. Hope Ramsay treats her characters with honesty and compassion. A CHRISTMAS BRIDE hits all the marks for a fabulous seasonal treat and hopefully initiates a whole passel of new stories.
