Are you ready for some chills and thrills? This collection of stories will have you turning the lights on and keeping them on. THE BEST HORROR OF THE YEAR VOLUME 8 has a great list of authors who each guarantee wonderful characters and world building. I was excited to see a few of my favorite authors in this collection. I enjoyed many of these stories and cannot just pick one as a favorite. This is a good collection of stories that will raise your flesh and more.

While I did enjoy all the stories included there were a few that really stood out for me. The authors do a nice job of weaving their worlds and characters that I found myself quickly lost in the stories. They run the gamut of places and things that will have your imagination running. From Halloween, an apocalypse, hunters and more there are many worlds to delve into and get lost in. These stories are well written and immerse the reader in the worlds that the authors have created. With so many worlds to pick from there is bound to be something to grab your attention. Each of these stories grabbed my attention and kept it all the way to the end. There are some twists and turns in these that only add to the enjoyment of the stories.

These quick reads pack a punch and gave me some chills to enjoy. The editor did a good job of collecting engaging stories that give you the shivers and may even keep you up at night. I enjoy the thrill of a scary story and I am always looking forward to these anthologies. Who doesn't love the thrill of a creepy story to get your adrenaline flowing?
