I love Frankie! In fact, Frankie may be my favorite romance heroine of all time. Sarah Morgan does a beautiful job at highlighting Frankie's strengths and sarcastic wit while also showing us her underlying emotional fragility. I want to reread SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK over and over just to enjoy Frankie's cynical but oh so hilarious commentary. Despite her seemingly tough exterior, however, Frankie is a deeply loyal and caring person and exactly the kind of friend I would want to have.
I also appreciate Sarah Morgan's ability to take readers to some of the darker places in life while still offering us hope. There is a side plot in SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK that I hope to see more of as I'm hoping Sarah Morgan will tackle these characters in a future book. I won't ruin things by revealing spoilers, but I definitely respect Sarah Morgan's sensitivity at tackling a dark but oh so realistic issue.
SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK is the second book in Sarah Morgan's From Manhattan With Love series. You can easily jump right into SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK and enjoy this series, but these characters are so much fun that I can't imagine skipping even one moment with them! Sarah Morgan continues to demonstrate why she is one of the best contemporary romance writers out there as SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK is one of the best books I've read this year -- and I read a lot of books! If you read just one contemporary romance book this year, make it SUNSET IN CENTRAL PARK. You won't be disappointed!
Book Summary
In the chaos of New York, true love can be hard to find,
even when it's been right under your nose all
along…
Love has never been a priority
for garden designer Frankie Cole. After witnessing the
fallout of her parents' divorce, she's seen the devastation
an overload of emotion can cause. The only man she feels
comfortable with is her friend Matt—but that's strictly
platonic. If only she found it easier to ignore the way he
makes her heart race…
Matt Walker has loved
Frankie for years but, sensing how fragile she is beneath
her feisty exterior, has always played it cool. But then he
uncovers new depths to the girl he's known forever and
doesn't want to wait a moment longer. He knows Frankie has
secrets and has buried them deep, but can Matt persuade her
to trust him with her heart and kiss him under the Manhattan
sunset?
