Almost a year ago, the Gleason family was vacationing in a lake house near The Hollows when their young daughter was abducted after the family was attacked while hiking. Believing her daughter is still alive somewhere in the area, Merri Gleason returns to The Hollows where she learns that another similar incident 18 months prior could have a connection to their case. She hires Jones Cooper, retired cop turned PI, to investigate. Jones and Eloise have worked a number of successful cases together over the years, once his skepticism of her special abilities subsided. However, this time, the Gleason case is Finley's to solve, not Eloise's. Finley is not sure she's ready, but realizes she has no choice. Her visions will not let her walk away, no matter how dangerous the situation, which quickly escalates into life-threatening proportions.

Lisa Unger gives readers a cleverly devised psychological thriller in INK AND BONE. The surprising twists and turns of the chilling plot, as well as the unique characters and just the right touch of paranormal, are a brilliant combination. In trying to work out how all the plot threads would come together, INK AND BONE kept me enthralled until the incredible conclusion. I am a big fan of suspenseful psychological thrillers, and then if it has a paranormal element, I am hooked. Of course, the writing has to be good, and I can honestly say that Unger goes way beyond excellence in that aspect. INK AND BONE has all the elements I require for a first-rate reading experience.
