In ALL DRESSED IN WHITE Laurie is approached by the mother of a bride who disappeared the day before her wedding. The authorities have for the most part treated it as a bride who got cold feet. The bride Amanda Pierce has never been found seen since her disappearance. A true cold case, no leads, no body, seemingly no motive.

In ALL DRESSED IN WHITE Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke really give us a chance to play detective. The reader gets to follow along and see any clues large and small. Here's a hint for all you arm chair detectives— unless you skip to the end—cheat—you will never guess the ending. Definitely my kind of story and even though it is part of a series ALL DRESSED IN WHITE is independently terrific.

I actually finished this fabulous whodunit a few weeks ago prior to writing this review. All I had to do was open to the first page and the story unfolded once again right before my eyes. It is that engrossing.

Amanda Pierce is at a lavish hotel for her dream wedding weekend. Her marriage to her college friend was a fait accompli, but from the very first page we realize Amanda has some doubts. People call it cold feet—perfectly natural. Getting married is a big step.

Amanda was surrounded by family and friends. When Laurie Moran is approached by Amanda's mother Sandra, she initially can't believe that with all the media coverage there still was no resolution to Amanda's whereabouts. How can someone just vanish? But isn't that the premise of a cold case. Except in Sandra's opinion this wasn't a case where the leads dried up—she is convinced the authorities didn't think of Amanda's disappearance as foul play but rather a flight from the altar by a capricious young woman.

So Laurie and her crew set off for the hotel to set it up to look just like the wedding weekend. Everyone agreed to come so they could help reenact the events leading up to Amanda's disappearance. This is to be a very difficult for family and friends who have valiantly moved on with their lives. Or have they.

In ALL DRESSED IN WHITE everyone looks innocent and guilty depending on what page you are on. So many characters had issues, and most of their lives are still impacted by the events of that fateful weekend. They all really need closure. ALL DRESSED IN WHITE is about a mother's love and her inability to close the door on any possibility that something happened to her daughter. Amanda would never have left her family or left her mother in limbo with their collective broken hearts. As we learn, the authorities did not do their job, and now it's Laurie's task to sort through the maze of information to hopefully come to a conclusion. Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke take you on a voyage of discovery of truth. Hint—the truth has been buried all these years. Not all cold cases are ultimately solved but we can hope.
