Priscilla has two very good friends who we have met in the previous books in this series. Leah and Elaine have always been there for Priscilla as she has for them. Leah is married to Adam and are raising his three nieces. Elaine is courting Ben but can't seem to let go of the feelings she has for Noah. Noah has just lost his wife Sarah to a tragic accident and he is raising their two children alone with the help of his family. THE RESTORATION also introduces you to David, an English man who is visiting his grandparents and is smitten with Priscilla. He knows she is courting Elam and also knows the only way he could have a life with Priscilla is to become Amish, which he thinks he will have no problem doing.
THE RESTORATION is filled with faith of course, but also loss, hope, love, heartache, and forgiveness. Something is always happening in this heartfelt story so the reader isn't bored in the least and is quickly flipping the pages. This story is a quick read, but you will want to take it slow and soak it all in knowing this is the end to a wonderful series.
THE RESTORATION has many twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages; each twist kept me wondering what might happen next. There were a few story lines going on within the story and Wanda E. Brunstetter blends them together perfectly, providing a wonderful story that certainly leaves this reader satisfied with the ending of The Prairie State Friends series. Fans of Amish fiction will devour THE RESTORATION. I am sad this series is ending, but I'm very happy Ms. Brunstetter wrapped up all of the characters stories. Wanda E. Brunstetter has always been one of my favorite authors in the Amish genre because her work always provides inspirational messages while also providing real life issues that happen to take place in an Amish setting.
Book Summary
Dive into an Amish country love triangle in this third book of the Prairie State Friends series. Priscilla Herschberger finds herself pursued by Elam, a childhood friend from her community, and David, an outsider raised in the modern world. Elam would do almost anything to convince Priscilla that David would never fit into the Amish way. Will flames of jealousy rage out of control and ruin lives? Can forgiveness allow love and trust to grow?
