WILD COWBOY WAYS is a humorous and heartwarming look at some really great characters who are working hard towards personal goals and along the way treats us to some of the best written scenes and dialog. Carolyn Brown's pen brings all her characters to life. Brown's list of characters in WILD COWBOY WAYS includes two structures, the Lucky Penny Ranch and Audrey's Place, which each have quite an interesting history.
Lucky Penny Ranch is right next to Audrey's Place, a former brothel. Allie, Katy and Irene now live in Audrey's Place. The Lucky Penny has fallen into disrepair from years of neglect from previous owners who couldn't quite get past its dubious reputation as a place with a black cloud. Blake and his group are intent on changing all that. Allie is a carpenter and along with her mother, Katy, support her grandmother, Irene, who is beginning to show definite signs of dementia.
Blake realizes Allie is quite a distraction. He is really beginning to look forward to her and her friend spending time at his ranch doing much needed repairs. But if he is honest with himself it is her company he needs.
Allie isn't the only member of her family who is spending time at the Lucky Penny. Grandma Irene is practically a house guest in her quest to reconnect with someone near and dear to her. Problem is Irene has difficulty distinguishing past from present. In WILD COWBOY WAYS Carolyn Brown treats Irene's issues with respectful humor and is totally endearing. Irene may not be able to tell fact from fiction, but she is the catalyst for all the good moments in this wonderful story.
WILD COWBOY WAYS is about making changes and taking chances. In true Carolyn Brown fashion, this story resonates with feeling from beginning to end capturing your attention and heart.
