Hannah's life was on a fast track until she discovered that the man she was seeing was married and her job isn't what she really wants. Returning home to help with her brother's wedding and a simpler life will allow her time to evaluate what she wants to do next. The last thing she expected was to wreck her car.
Calder Blue has come to town to learn more about a job. His family's firm has been contracted to build a yacht club in Blueberry Cover. Running into Hannah causes complications in an already complicated life. Calder hopes to learn more about the club which threatens a firm owned by a distant relative. Since the family has been feuding for generations, that won't be easy.
In SEA GLASS SUNRISE, Ms. Kauffman has written a charming love story with two characters who are finding their way to new lives. Throw in the small town and the tension that the yacht club is causing and you have a scene ripe for chaos. I've read Ms. Kauffman for years. With each book, I find another reason to love her work. Great characters with a story that twines around life in small town America give the reader an emotionally satisfying read.
Book Summary
In seaside Blueberry Cove, Maine, friends are just another word for family, and big-city politics take a backseat to local pride. But the real treasure on these shores is always love…
When D.C. lawyer Hannah McCrae heads home for her brother’s wedding, she’s dragging a lot of baggage along with her—and she doesn’t mean suitcases. Betrayed personally, and humiliated professionally, the last thing she wants is a new man. That’s fine with square-jawed, rugged contractor Calder Blue. He and Hannah may be wildly attracted to one another, but all he wants is to build the town’s hotly contested new yacht club and mend a centuries-old family feud. Yet thanks to resentments old and new, day after day the pair wind up tangled in each other’s business—and maybe soon in each other’s arms.
