NIGHTWALKER by Jacquelyn Frank is the final book in her Nightwalker series that encompasses several different worlds including those of the Bodywalkers, Shadowdellers, and others. I think NIGHTWALKER should only be read after reading a few of Jacquelyn Frank's other books set in this world. There are too many specialized terms and characters that crossover from other books for a reader new to the series to fully understand and appreciate. However, after reading and loving this series and these characters, NIGHTWALKER makes an exciting and satisfying end to the series. I can only hope that Jacquelyn Frank revisits this world at some point in the future because there are still one or two characters I would love to see more of.

Amid a race to avert an apocalypse, there is a romance that develops between the Bodywalker known as Kamen and the half-Wraith Vieve. There are so many things to love about their romance. I like that the story is told from both perspectives, since both characters are very complex. Kamen and Vieve both have feelings of unworthiness when it comes to love - Kamen because of his strong sense of guilt, and Vieve because of her feelings of insecurity that were drilled into her by her family. I love watching the two grow individually and helping each other when they can't always see themselves clearly. There is a wonderful feeling of sensuality and magic woven through NIGHTWALKER that makes the romance so special. Jacquelyn Frank always gives a romance extra sizzle, but it's her unique and interesting characters that add depth and make such a compelling story.

NIGHTWALKER is the perfect combination of action-packed fantasy and erotic romance. Jacquelyn Frank creates a truly monstrous villain for readers to feel good about hating. The battle of good versus evil is epic and thrilling. The huge cast of characters, both new and old, add to the story without cluttering things up. As a fan of the series, I love seeing characters from different books interacting and getting their own moment to shine. I eagerly await the next book by Jacquelyn Frank.
