Return to Longboat Key, Florida for another Matt Royal mystery in CHASING JUSTICE. Matt is temporarily giving up his beach bum life, putting back on his lawyer suit to represent Abby Lester, wife of the Chief of Police of Longboat Key. Abby is accused of the murder of Nate Bannister at Nate's condo in Sarasota. Nate is a condo developer, and a man that no one on the island likes. His estranged wife isn't even shedding any tears. On the same day that Matt takes on this case, his girlfriend, Detective Janice Duncan (aka J.D.) works a murder case on the island. Her victim is Linda Fevereaux, trophy wife of a well- to-do businessman who lives in one of the big mansions here.

Abby Lester is arrested by the FDLE since her husband is the Chief of Police and there could be a conflict of interest. Matt thinks the case was turned over to FDLE a little too quickly. Is there a hidden agenda here with someone trying to railroad Abby into a conviction? Matt totally believes in her innocence, but there is not a lot of evidence to go on. J.D.'s case isn't much better. She learns that Linda Fevereaux may not really be who they think she is when Linda's fingerprints come back as someone else. As Matt and J.D. talk through the cases with each other, they begin to think there may be a connection between the two. Will justice be served in both cases?

CHASING JUSTICE is another winner in this delightful murder mystery series. I love the playful banter between Matt and J.D. Both are strong main characters with a number of quirky supporting characters. Numerous feds from all letter name agencies are swarming on this case. You almost need a program to keep up. Terrell Griffin keeps the reader engaged with the many twists and turns that the cases take as Matt and J.D. try to find the real murderers. Mr. Griffin gives us a lesson in courtroom decorum and procedure as he details Abby's trial. He has certainly done his research on this island community and paints us a beautiful picture of a beach bum life. CHASING JUSTICE is a great adventure for summer reading.
