First her father suddenly moves in. After many years of marriage his mother has again kicked him out, and appears to be serious about divorce this time. Then as if this is not enough her cousin Russell has arrived on her doorstep announcing that he has concerns about his life and expects that Lucy can help him solve his issues.
Lucy is having quite the time of it. Life at home is a whirlwind, and life at work is also about to explode. She is a botanist for a family owned chocolate company; Bernard Chocolates. She has put the finishing touches on a new variety of tree that can grow in a different climate from where cacao trees typically grow.
The one thing Lucy never expects is that after taste testing the new "Bliss" she and Nick Bernard will have one wild night of passion. That one wild night also changes Lucy's life.
Life for Lucy and Nick will never be the same after the night of the chocolate as Lucy tends to call it. Nick wants to woo Lucy, and she wants to be sure he feels no obligation whatsoever towards her. The evolution of their relationship makes for entertaining reading.
BLAME IT ON CHOCOLATE by Jennifer Greene is an easy read and perfect for breaking up the winter doldrums.
Book Summary
But when an experimental strain of chocolate that she'd developed needed testing, someone had to do it. Who knew that overindulging in her creation would turn an introverted plant lover into a wild nymphomaniac? Or that a celebration with Nick, her boss, would lead to a shocking kiss . . . and a whole lot more.
She blamed it on the chocolate. Her new discovery was supposed to have made her career. Not turn her practical, logical, normal life upside down and get her pregnant with her boss's baby! Though she and Nick butted heads at work, if their one night together was any indication, they were a great match in bed. With a little luck (and chocolate!) maybe they could turn their one-night stand into the chance of a lifetime.
