THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD is book six in the Life In Icicle Falls series, one of my all time favorites. Sheila Roberts pulls you in each and every time and before you know it, you are emotionally invested in all of the characters' lives. Well, she's done it again with THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD. I read this wonderful story in one afternoon and Ms. Roberts left me aching for more. As an added bonus, Sheila Roberts also included some of the recipes from this heart-warming story at the end of the book.

Missy Monroe is one of the characters who really pulled at my heart strings. She is a single mother raising two young kids. Missy, a hairdresser, has saved all year to bring her children to The Lodge for a special Christmas because she believes they deserve it. She hasn't had an easy life and this Christmas isn't an exception. Her daughter Lalla wants a grandma for Christmas, and her brother, Carlos, wants a dog. Missy can't provide either one of these and it breaks her heart. All of the guests pool together to try and make this the best Christmas ever for her children. Keep the tissues handy because you are going to need them.

I love the story of Olivia, the owner of the inn, and James Claussen, a guest. Both are widowed and both miss their spouses terribly. These two are lonely and not everyone in their families can see that. By the end of THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD, they grow close by sharing some of what they had gone through. I really enjoy just how much heart both of these characters had, especially Olivia. THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD is a winner all around. It has wonderful characters, romance, lots if second chances, and an amazing setting that I can't wait to revisit!

THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD is filled to the brim with family, new beginnings, love, and hope. It is a wonderful Christmas story. I read it in July and loved it. A little girl getting a Grandma, a little boy needing his very own dog, and Santa himself needing a Mrs. Claus! Grown children learning that their Dad can miss their Mom and still love again. There are a lot of wishes and prayers fulfilled this Christmas season at THE LODGE ON HOLLY ROAD. Sit back with some hot chocolate brimming with whipped cream and another wonderful story from Sheila Roberts! This tale should become a delightful Christmas movie very soon!

Book Summary

How Santa Gets His Christmas Spirit Back.
