With one act of kindness Ella is thrown into the path of Tony Granger, firefighter, rancher, and the most gorgeous man she has ever set eyes on. Ella has a secret past that she will do anything to keep hidden. Tony is struggling with his new position as a parent to his nephew, Johnny. Having lost his brother and sister-in-law, Tony stepped up to fill their role, but he is lost. When Ella needs money to fix up her home, Tony offers to be her partner for Dancing with the Firefighters which comes with a cash prize, in return for tutoring Johnny. As a business arrangement leads to friendship and an intense attraction, both Ella and Tony struggle with their pasts, and as a wildfire threatens everyone in Whistlestop, will Ella's new life go up in flames?
A MOMENT TO DANCE by Jennifer Faye is an engaging, contemporary romance that ticks all of the boxes. Ella is deeply damaged by her past and has spent all of her life dealing with guilt and hiding her scars, both inside and out. Tony has also suffered pain in his life and does not want to be attracted to Ella. I fell in love with both characters as they tried to weave their way through all of their issues. With plenty of action and secondary characters that add lots of flavour, the storyline flowed naturally and at a good pace. I thoroughly enjoyed A MOMENT TO DANCE by Jennifer Faye and would highly recommend it.
