Again welcome back to Harmony with its amazing citizens who meet us with open arms and hearts. In ONE TRUE HEART Jodi Thomas employs a whole new cast of players in addition to a well-established group that are well thought out and created. ONE TRUE LOVE is another work of art created by Jodi Thomas with her signature style and creativity. There is genius involved when penning a story that incorporates so many elements.

Once again I will caution readers to pay attention. Jodi Thomas does not mince words -- there is intent in everything included in ONE TRUE HEART.

Why do I absolutely love Thomas -- well let me count the ways -- sorry for waxing poetic. All the characters in any Jodi Thomas book have a role, a job, a purpose -- nothing extraneous. When you think this is just a lovely, western, romance you quickly realize that is just the icing on the cake. Love is in the air but the coupling will surprise and delight you.

All the people in ONE TRUE HEART are truly characters as in they are quirky, engaging, funny and candidly slightly misfit. They are not looking for their one true love but Jodi Thomas has a goal and don't mess with her.

The McAllen family has deep roots in Harmony as one of the founders of this little bit of heaven on earth. Millanie McAllen has returned after a long absence to recover from injuries sustained in the military. Her career is cut short by damaged to her leg and she was looking for a safe haven to rest, regroup and recover. She needs Harmony. Needless to say Harmony and all the McAllen clan welcome her back. But they don't realize that Millanie is working on an important case even as she heals.

There are several stories that ingeniously interlock in ONE TRUE HEART. All play a part -- interesting and vital in what ultimately becomes an investigation into a global crime centered in this little town. Harmony where people can almost disappear and blend into the fabric of this lovely inclusive town. Where newcomers are welcomed as readily as those with deep seated roots.

Jodi Thomas introduces us to some characters that have weathered less than gracious homes, families and marriages and yet managed to survive becoming better, more loving and caring individuals -- albeit with some remaining stubborn quirks but that's what makes them all the more engaging.

Jodi Thomas fans, new and old, are going to find her at the top of her game in ONE TRUE LOVE. ONE TRUE LOVE has earned a well-deserved spot on my all-time favorite's shelf. As always it's never too late to join a Thomas series. Harmony and Jodi Thomas have never looked better.
