ONE MILE UNDER starts with a huge bang! Dani Whalen, finds the body of Trey Watkins, a fellow whitewater guide during a routine trip down the rapids. The local authorities believe that it is an accident, but Dani doubts that finding. Ron, or Rooster as everyone calls him, a hot air balloon operator, claims to have seen something while he was in the air and claims in a crowded bar, "He wasn't alone! It wasn't an accident." Dani and Ron arrange to get together the next day to discuss what Ron saw, but Ron is killed in a fiery crash the next morning before they can talk.

Dani's father, Ted, contacts Ty in an email asking for his help. Dani is in trouble in Colorado and she needs Ty's help. Her step father, Wade, is the chief of police and he has thrown Dani in jail. He says he is doing it for her protection, because she is interfering in his investigation into Trey's death, but she feels as if Wade is hiding something and keeping the truth from getting out. When Ty starts investigating, he is put in some pretty scary situations and it is going to keep you on the edge of your seat just like ONE MILE UNDER did to me! Someone is keeping some very big secrets and will stop at nothing to make sure they aren't exposed.

ONE MILE UNDER is the first Ty Hauck novel Andrew Gross has written in five years. Im so glad the wait is over and I got to catch up with Ty. The wait was definitely worth it and once again, Mr. Gross pulls you right in, speeds up your heart many many times, and never lets you go! From the first page, ONE MILE UNDER is a thriller that is going to have you forgetting every thing you are supposed to do until you read the very last page. Andrew Gross does a great job of explaining the cause and effect of fracking. The murders, the town and the people will keep you reading to the very end and you will find yourself cheering for Dani and Ty the whole time.
