Piper George did something when she was fifteen and she has never forgotten it for one day. CARRY HER HEART is all about the decision she made. She gave her baby, that she named Amanda up for adoption. She didn't do it for herself, since she was only fifteen and unable to take care of a baby and still have a teenage life. No, she did it so Amanda could have a better life. Her boyfriend at the time, Amanda's father, told Piper it wasn't his but he would pay for an abortion. Piper couldn't do that and knew that her baby deserved to grow up in a happy home with a mother who could take care of her, love her, and give her happy life. Amanda deserved to have a father as well, all things Piper couldn't give her. But she never stopped loving her.

Piper is an author and at first, writes children's books but as Amanda gets older, she begins to write young adult books. One day while writing on her front porch, her new neighbor, Ned moves in next door. They hit it off instantly and become very good friends. Ned's girlfriend doesn't like Piper and Piper tries to convince her that they are just friends. Ned becomes a big part of CARRY HER HEART and I'm sure you will fall in love with him just like I did. Piper keeps Amanda a secret from Ned, but when he finds out, he doesn't get mad and run! No, he completely understands and even helps brings peace to her life. I was so completely wrapped up in Piper's life and couldn't wait to see how Holly Jacobs wrapped up her story.

I cried my eyes out while finishing CARRY HER HEART. This is only the second book I have read by Holly Jacobs but I can tell you, she is now on my favorite author radar. She shredded my heart, left me sobbing, and then put my heart back together again. I just love when an author does that to me. When I was finished reading, I sat there for a very long time wondering what I would have done in Piper's situation. I truly loved Piper and Ned and would love to read a sequel on all the characters.

Grab CARRY HER HEART, snag a snack and your favorite beverage and get on the couch. Be prepared to spend the day with mixed emotions while reading this beautiful story and keep the tissue box handy. I am now on a quest to read all of Holly Jacobs' books, she goes straight for your heart.
