With very little evidence, both old and new, Olivia and Gabe team up to find Danielle's killer and maybe the person responsible for the more recent murder of Ron Kober. As they begin their investigation, it appears that someone doesn't want them poking around the old crime scene nor asking too many questions. Three narrow escapes have this cold case heating up for sure. And is there something else heating up between Olivia and Gabe?
KANSAS CITY COVER UP is a fast-paced, action-packed novel that sizzles from page one. If the police action isn't hot enough, the tension between characters and the electricity between Olivia and Gabe will fan the flames just as well. Olivia is a third generation cop and her character is well portrayed by Julie Miller in this story. It's a story about trust and relationships and about keeping old secrets hidden. This is another thriller from Ms. Miller's The Precinct: Cold Case series and my second visit with her to Kansas City. I'm becoming a fan!
Book Summary
Political intrigue, an undercover investigation and a very mutual attraction
As the Kansas City Police Department's archenemy, reporter Gabriel Knight never expected to need its help. But the sexy journalist suspects the death of a politician's aide will shed light on the long-unsolved murder of his fiancée. He demands to team up with tough, beautiful detective Olivia Watson. Sharing a mutual distrust—and a disturbingly mutual attraction—Gabe and Olivia discover that someone's working hard to keep old secrets buried and stop their investigation dead. But as they come closer to the truth they edge closer to each other. Until now, neither has had room in their lives—or hearts—for a relationship. Yet all that could change - if Gabe can prevent them from becoming tomorrow's headline.
