Lesley Campbell has always been that little bit different from everyone else. With an opal stone, that has been handed down through her Scottish family, Lesley has the ability to dream small snippets of the future. Having no control over this ability, Lesley struggles with this power, which is both a gift and a curse. Hoping to find some help, Lesley turns to the Institute for Parapsychological Research. Giving evidence of some of her predictions, she meets their lead investigator, Craig Ritter.

Craig is cynical and doesn't believe her abilities, so once again Lesley finds herself alone and vulnerable. After a terrifying break in, Lesley meets Jon Hollister, and her life changes before her very eyes.

Caring and comfortable to be around, Lesley soon becomes enamoured by the older widower, and finds herself married and moving to his isolated home in Iron Ridge. But it is not long before the cracks in their relationship begin to show, and Lesley feels that he his hiding something from her. With strangers hiding in the woods surrounding their home, a locked tower hiding secrets within, and disturbing tales concerning the death of Jon's first wife, does Lesley really know the man she has married?

THE OPAL LEGACY by Jane Toombs (writing as Fortune Kent) is a short paranormal tale. Enjoying the premise of the plotline, I did find the story slightly rushed and disjointed in areas, and I would have liked more information on Lesleys heritage and childhood, so that I could fully understand her present day reasoning. All in all THE OPAL LEGACY by Jane Toombs (writing as Fortune Kent) is just a little short for me and I would have enjoyed a little more detail.
